 Marianne Hornbuckle’s geometric abstractions juxtapose the architectonic
 and the emotional, exploring the push-pull of color, shape and surface, creating multi-layered illusions of texture and depth. Carefully considered compositions come to life slowly, color applied loosely but within the constraints of masks, allowed to dry before proceeding to the next stage. Each painting contains in its layers evidence of what came before – consideration, action, and consequence, and beginning again…and again.
